The latest Return To Campus memorandums, issued by NYU Abu Dhabi’s Office of External Relations on April 7 and 14 respectively, outlined some changes and relaxations of rules concerning Covid-19 regulations. Here is a summary of those announcements.
Student Travel Guidelines for Undergraduates
Students can use funds from Student Affairs or the Office of Student Research to travel for extracurricular and research opportunities. Please refer to the criteria for
supported student travel. These guidelines may change over the semester to reflect current public health recommendations and UAE travel restrictions. Any inquiries should be directed to nyuad.dos@nyu.edu or nyuad.studentresearch@nyu.edu.
East Forum Unavailable for Friday Prayers
The following days are reserved at the East Forum and will not be available for Friday prayers:
Friday, May 13 and Friday, May 27. During these times, other campus prayer spaces will be open. Please be considerate and ensure that individuals who live on campus have priority to use the East Forum.
Shuttle Bus for Ramadan
During Ramadan, a shuttle bus will transport residents to the Saadiyat Mosque for the Taraweeh Prayer. At 8:10 p.m., the daily shuttle will depart from the Welcome Center and return at 8:50 p.m.. To use the shuttle, residents must have an Al Hosn green pass.

As Ramadan falls within the academic year, the team has created a
Ramadan FAQ to assist students with information and reminders about the holy month of Ramadan.
Covid-19 Testing Hours During Ramadan
During the holy month of Ramadan, the schedule for on-campus testing, including diagnostic PCR tests and student rapid test stations, will be altered. The new opening hours are: Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
PCR Testing Requirements Reminder
Please keep in mind that the necessary testing for close contacts with Covid-19 patients on days 1 and 7 must be a nasal PCR rather than a rapid antigen test.
