On March 1, The NYU Abu Dhabi Art Gallery will open its doors to the public for its Spring 2022 exhibition:
Parthenogenesis: Ramin Haerizadeh, Rokni Haerizadeh and Hesam Rahmanian. With the addition of never-before-seen new works, the exhibition marks the three artists’ first institutional show in the UAE, creating a landscape and tapestry of continuously evolving ideas and dialogues.
Originally from Iran, Ramin Haerizadeh, Rokni Haerizadeh and Hesam Rahmanian have adopted Dubai as their home. Prior to the NYUAD Art Gallery, the artists have been exhibited at international forums and museums, including the Toronto and Sydney biennials, the contemporary art museum Kunsthalle Zurich in Zurich, Switzerland and Hayward Gallery in London, among others. As introduced on the Art Gallery website, “[they] are known for their immersive, surreal projects, performances, paintings and animations.”
For Parthenogenesis, the exhibition showcases how an artwork grows itself through an artists’ relationship with others. It is also a testament to the artists’ thirteen years of life in Dubai as they have been living and working together.
The exhibition runs until June 12 and the new Art Gallery Hours are 12 p.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesday through Sunday. A “green” status on the Alhosn app is required to enter. Entry is free, you may book a ticket through the
pre-registration link in advance to save time at the entry, but walk-ins are also welcomed.
