The Return to Campus Committee shared an updated memorandum on NYU Abu Dhabi policies with the community on Nov. 11 detailing changes in all areas of campus life. Here is a summary of these announcements.
Flu Shots
Flu shots are available for free to all community members, including students, staff, faculty and residents aged eight and above. To avail the shot, please visit the West Forum on the ground floor of the Campus Center. The timings for the shots are 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 2 to 4 p.m. until Nov. 30. No pre-registration is required and the shots can be obtained on a walk-in basis. For prompt service, please fill out this
this form beforehand and bring it with you on the day of visit.
Building Entrances
Entry to C2 is only permitted through the main entrance on the ground floor. Community members are reminded that opening the exit doors to let others enter into C2 is a violation of MoE protocols.
Access to Campus
Students who received two Sinopharm doses more than six months ago are reminded to obtain a booster shot of either Pfizer or Sinopharm. The proof of this booster shot must be
uploaded to the
Student Health Portal.
Waiting for a booster shot does not make you eligible to work remotely. In-person work is still expected to be carried out with the use of the Campus Access app, which operates on an increased testing cycle. Once they have taken their booster shot, they can go back to using AlHosn and monthly testing.
Updates can be followed on the Student Portal.
Camera Usage in Remote Classes
Students are expected to have their cameras on during Zoom classes, as face to face interactions are an important part of the learning process. Exceptions to this expectation should be discussed with the course instructor beforehand. If students do not have access to a working camera, they may borrow a laptop from the library. The Academic Technology team is also here to provide support in case students experience connectivity issues.
Opening of D1 for Study
From Nov. 14, the West Dining Hall or D1 will open as a study space from 10 a.m. to 2 a.m. Students are reminded to follow existing Covid-19 regulations, including maintaining a 1 metre distance and keeping their masks on. Students are also reminded to clean up after themselves.
