Following the election announcement, Committee Chairs took turns updating the GA. The Dining Committee announced the introduction of new nutrition information labelling in the East Dining Hall. The Programming Board announced the organization of a trip to Comic Con, the End Of Year Gala tickets going on sale, Spirit Week being held from April 21 to 25 and a screening of Avengers: Endgame on April 26.
The Funding Board also presented their mid-semester review. The board said that they had a semester budget of 92,000 Dirhams to disburse to Student Interest Groups. 238,816 Dirhams were requested by SIGs in total. Of that amount, 122,844 Dirhams were approved, but SIGs only spent 32,815 Dirhams of that approved amount. This leaves 60,000 Dirhams for Spring 2019.
Student Government solicited ideas to improve the use of campus spaces, announcing the formation of a committee dedicated for the matter. For example, students suggested increasing the number of quiet places on campus, citing that as is, the library is the only space on campus that guarantees silence. Other ideas included making the outdoor spaces more comfortable for longer stays. The spaces above the East and West Dining Halls, including the Torch Club terrace, the reading terrace and the atrium spaces were mentioned as examples of places that would be ideal in cool weather but lack comfortable chairs and desks to use.
No new business was discussed.
