Student-Led Production: Forné5
Between Nov. 15 and Nov. 17 from 8 p.m. NYU Abu Dhabi students will be performing their awaited production titled Forné5. The plot will be an interpretation and a celebration of works by Cuban-American playwright Maria Irene Fornés. The production will be composed of five short plays, namely Dr. Kheal, Springtime, Drowning, Hunger and a reimagination of A Vietnamese Wedding. The plays will tackle questions of humanity, gender, love, loneliness and other related topics explored by Fornés in her pieces. The production will also examine the student community at NYUAD in relation to Fornés’ works. Networking Night
Do you need a chance to practice your networking skills? Would you like to create some connections with employers from various organizations across the UAE? Then join the Career Development Center for Networking Night on Wednesday Nov. 14. The event will boast over 70 organizations from across the country, including Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, TwoFour54, United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees and many others. The event will provide students a chance to explore potential career paths and to network with both employers as well as NYUAD alumni so as to learn from their experiences. The event will be held in the NYUAD Torch Club Restaurant Terrace from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. with light refreshments and canapes provided. RSVP

NYUAD Open Studios
On Monday Nov. 12, the NYUAD Arts Center will open its doors for its annual NYUAD Open Studios. The event is a celebration of the arts in their various forms at NYUAD and offers the student body a chance to freely explore these forms. The night will feature over 60 interdisciplinary exhibitions, installations, performances, screenings, demonstrations and more. Students and faculty from the Visual Arts, Interactive Media, Art History, Music, Film, Creative Writing and Theater programs will be at the event exhibiting their work and meeting attendees of the event. Come explore the many spaces of the Arts Center, eat some great food, meet the student and faculty artists and get a behind-the-scenes look into the various art studios, workshops and labs that the center has to offer. Diwali Celebration
Join the TASHAN Student Interest Group for Diwali, one of its most anticipated events of the semester. Diwali is the Hindu festival of lights, during which people light up their homes, temples, shops and offices every autumn. The event on campus will include various dance performances led by students, South Asian music and food for all to enjoy. The event is open to the entire student body, so come and celebrate with TASHAN on Friday Nov. 16 in the West Forum from 6:45 p.m onwards.
