De-stress with Dogs and Bubble Tea
Mark your calendars for this upcoming Friday, May 4, for an event much appreciated by the student body in the past: Doggy De-stress! Doggy De-stress is an annual event hosted by REACH that aims to decrease students’ stress level during finals week, accompanied by dogs to play with and snacks. The event will be held above Al Diwan starting at 3:30 p.m. To accommodate the ever-growing student body, REACH has prepared even more than the usual bubble tea, upbeat music and dogs. This year’s event may be the biggest of its kind, with a wider variety of snacks and merch promoting mental health and self care available to the attendees.
“Doggy De-stress is an amazing opportunity to get out there on the grass and feel the sun. De-stressing by playing with our loyal animal friends as well as our loyal human friends is so important, especially in this time of the year,” said Brian Kim, Class of 2020.

A Musical Evening with Andrea Chung, Jacinta Hu and Mina Kim
If you’re looking for a way to wind down, mark your calendar for Andrea Chung’s bassoon concert on May 2. The event starts at 7:30 p.m. in the Blue Hall. Chung, Class of 2018, will be performing with Jacinta Hu, Class of 2020, and Mina Kim, Class of 2018, who will be playing the piano and flute, respectively. They have prepared over an hour’s worth of music, which they have been working on together for the past year. The concert includes a Saint-Saëns sonata, a jazz suite and a Chinese folk song.
“We're playing an elegant bassoon sonata by Saint-Saëns, Jazz Suite for bassoon by Ken Cooper, two out of the five Sacred Trees concertos for bassoon by John Williams (this one is more modern and funky), Ode to Piazzola by Adrienne Albert and a Chinese folk song by Louis Liao,” said Hu.
